We need your help
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope this letter finds you and your family safe and well.
“It Takes a Village” – These words could not be more appropriate as we battle the COVID pandemic. These challenging times have had a negative impact on most organizations, and the Cotuit Library is no exception. As you may know, 25% (roughly $50,000) of our current funding comes from our major annual fundraisers: the House Tour; Redemption Center; and Golf Tournament. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel all three. Unlike most public libraries in Massachusetts, Barnstable’s libraries are only partially funded by the town. We have to raise $200,000 annually to cover operating and building expenses. After losing these major fundraisers, this annual appeal and your continued support is even more critical in keeping “The Heart of the Village” healthy.
I hope that you will consider joining one of our new “giving societies” established last year to recognize our largest donors. The Skipper Giving Society recognizes donors who give $2,000 or more annually. The Bosun Giving Society recognizes donors who give between $1,000 and $1,999 annually.
Our vision statement reads: “The Heart of the Village – today and for generations to come.” We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful village, with great people who support the Library. We are all part of the building for future generations. My favorite two words as a Trustee of the Library are THANK YOU. Without your support, we could not offer the level of service and programming that has made us “the Heart of the Village.”
Thank you in advance for any and all support you can provide. Please contact me with any questions or comments.
